Building guide

Take your time and cut and score accurately, keep the model square when folding.

Look through the instructions and the printed pages before you start to build.

If something goes wrong, print it out again and try again.

Building tips

You can improve the look of the finished building by following these tips.

Use a coloured felt tip pen on exposed areas of card, these include the folded edges, the inside edge of cut out doors and windows and the roof edges.

Keep the building square as you build, if building a long row of terraced houses or any of the modular buildings glue the front edges of the sections together then the back edges.

I fit the clear windows in place by using small sections of masking tape, apply tape to the top edge of the window (sticky side up), place on the cutting mat and place the building on top, this way you can get the window square, then tape the other edges.

Use a cocktail stick to apply glue to edges that have no tab. ( Lay the model on it's back ).

When rolling chimneys make the card slightly wet, this really helps.

OO Gauge building guide:

All the 00 gauge buildings photographed were printed onto 310 gsm card with a medium print setting on the printer (check your printer manual regarding card thicknesses.) You can also print them out onto paper and stick to thicker card.

0 Gauge building guide:

The 0 gauge models were printed on paper and then stuck to 480 gsm card. Due to the size of the models and an A4 printer the build is more complcated but the results are good. The terraced houses take me about 8 hours to build.
